About the Role
As a Construction Teacher in this Alternative Provision, you will deliver practical and engaging construction lessons in small groups, ensuring activities are tailored to meet the needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural needs. You will help students develop real-world, industry-relevant skills while building their confidence, resilience, and employability prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality construction lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and productive workshop or classroom environment.

• Support students in gaining industry-relevant qualifications and practical skills.

• Adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural challenges.

• Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and behaviour mentors to support student progress.

• Track learning outcomes and contribute to assessment and accreditation processes.

Requirements:

• Practical experience in the construction industry.

• Previous teaching or instructing experience in construction or related vocational skills (desirable).

• Understanding of the barriers faced by young people with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.

• Resilience, patience, and a passion for vocational education.

• A teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or Level 3 Award in Education & Training) is advantageous but not essential.
