An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Engineer to join a major industrial modernisation programme within a highly regulated advanced manufacturing environment. This role will support the delivery of large-scale site construction and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects as part of a significant future factory transformation initiative.
Working closely with the Site Modernisation Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring project requirements are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction and M&E project experience who enjoys working in a technically complex engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day delivery of construction and M&E projects on site
- Monitor project timing and identify mitigation plans where required
- Ensure project objectives and engineering requirements are achieved
- Maintain project documentation relating to programme timing and costs
- Develop and maintain safety documentation in line with HSE requirements
- Attend and contribute to project, engineering, safety and cost meetings
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal support functions
- Support the coordination of subcontract construction teams
Experience & Skills Required
- Good understanding of construction methodologies
- Strong knowledge of M&E installations and requirements
Ability to interpret:
- Construction drawings
- Mechanical schematic drawings
- Electrical schematic drawings
- Experience within construction, facilities management, engineering projects or industrial environments
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Project
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider project team
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator
- Apprenticeship within a relevant engineering discipline
- BTEC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical or Construction-related qualification
- AutoCAD experience
