Providing support to the IAS Engineering ManagerThis is a role in which there is no margin for error and attention to detail is paramount. Strong personal and communication skills are necessary, as this position will require interaction with Project staffPrincipal Relationships
Configuration Functional Manager IASProject Managers IASSystems Engineering Manager(s) IASKey Responsibilities and Tasks
Establishment of reference baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL)Registration and releasing of configuration informationOrganises and manages the Configuration Control Board (CCB) as well as pre and post CCB activities (including administrative tasks)Integrity and maintenance of configuration records, history and traceabilityArchiving of obsolete technical dataIn the above roles, you will be required to follow Configuration Management processes, procedures and standards in executing the roles using Microsoft Office tools and Configuration Management tools.Tasks will include:Creation / Update of the project Configuration Management PlansAdministering CM processes on projectFollowing CM and change management procedures and checking that engineering staff have complied with these proceduresProducing Configuration Status ReportsInterfacing with Document Services and Project Issuing OfficeParticipates in the phase reviews (PDR, CDR, etc) and in configuration audits (FCA and PCA)Skills
EssentialUse of PC based tools including Microsoft OfficeAbility to produce work output on time and to scheduleUnderstand the need to provide document structure and baseline reportsAttention to detail and logical methodology of workingMust be a team worker with good interpersonal skillsExperience:Essential5 Years + in the same or equivalent roleExperience using CM tools (e.g. Windchill PLM, SAP Teamcenter, etc)Experience in the use of Configuration Management processes and principlesExperience of working in a small team and managing stakeholdersAn appreciation of the full development project life cycleDesirableAwareness of Defence Standards 05-57 or similar acknowledged standards in CMValues and Behaviours
