Composite Trimmer | Cambridge | Up to £19.00 per hour

Are you an experienced Composite Trimmer with a strong background in decorative laminates and high-quality finishing techniques? As a Composite Trimmer, you will benefit from:

As a Composite Trimmer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying decorative laminates and surface finishes to composite panels using aerospace-approved adhesives and bonding processes
  • Trimming, sanding, edge finishing, and polishing components to tight tolerances and cosmetic standards
  • Preparing surfaces through cleaning, abrading, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings, lay-up specifications, and process sheets
  • Carrying out bonding processes including vacuum bagging or press lamination (where required)
  • Inspecting finished components for defects such as air entrapment, delamination, or surface imperfections
  • Maintaining full traceability through accurate job card and documentation completion

As a Composite Trimmer, your experience will include:

  • Proven experience working with decorative laminates (e.g. high-pressure laminates, veneers, or similar finishes)
  • Previous experience in composite trimming, panel finishing, or a similar manufacturing role
  • Strong understanding of adhesive systems, curing processes, and surface preparation techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions
  • Experience using hand tools, air tools, and finishing equipment
