As a Composite Trimmer, your responsibilities will include:
- Applying decorative laminates and surface finishes to composite panels using aerospace-approved adhesives and bonding processes
- Trimming, sanding, edge finishing, and polishing components to tight tolerances and cosmetic standards
- Preparing surfaces through cleaning, abrading, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Working from detailed engineering drawings, lay-up specifications, and process sheets
- Carrying out bonding processes including vacuum bagging or press lamination (where required)
- Inspecting finished components for defects such as air entrapment, delamination, or surface imperfections
- Maintaining full traceability through accurate job card and documentation completion
As a Composite Trimmer, your experience will include:
- Proven experience working with decorative laminates (e.g. high-pressure laminates, veneers, or similar finishes)
- Previous experience in composite trimming, panel finishing, or a similar manufacturing role
- Strong understanding of adhesive systems, curing processes, and surface preparation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Experience using hand tools, air tools, and finishing equipment
