Composite Trimmer Fitter

Position Title: Composites Trimming Consultant Duration: Contract Location: Sheffield and South East Location Job Description Automotive Composite Fitter (Trim and Prep) - Supercar Programme Key Responsibilities:Composite Trimming and Finishing Perform hand trimming of composite components using air tools and hand tools (e.g. Dremel, die grinders, routers)Trim parts to precise tolerances in line with engineering drawings and trim fixturesEnsure accurate edge finishes and dimensional conformityWork on complex geometries and high-value components (e.g. body panels, aerodynamic surfaces) Preparation for Paint (Prime and Paint Readiness) Prepare composite surfaces for paint, including:Sanding and surface finishingFilling minor imperfections (pinholes, surface defects)Surface cleaning and degreasingEnsure components meet Class A surface requirements prior to paintWork closely with paint shop teams to ensure seamless handover Assembly and Fitment Trial fit and align components where requiredCarry out minor adjustments to ensure correct fit and gap/flush targetsSupport build teams with component fitment readiness Why work through Contechs?Contechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
