Compliance and Monitoring Officer
Our local authority client based in Braintree are urgently seeking an experienced Compliance and Monitoring Officer. 20 an hour PAYE Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site, 5 days per week. The Opportunity: To support the Operations Manager in ensuring compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and industry best practice across Operational Services. To undertake compliance monitoring, workplace inspections, audits and on-the-job assessments to ensure employees, contractors and service areas operate safely and in accordance with statutory and Council requirements. To identify areas of non-compliance and service improvement, providing advice, guidance and practical recommendations to managers and employees. To develop, deliver and coordinate operational health and safety training, toolbox talks and competency assessments. To investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, complaints and breaches of procedure, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Role Accountabilities: Compliance and Monitoring Conduct planned and unannounced audits, inspections and site visits across all Operational Services including Waste, Street Cleansing, Horts and associated activities. Undertake regular monitoring of operational activities to ensure compliance with legislation, safe systems of work, risk assessments and Council procedures.
