A specialist SEN School in Thatcham is looking for a Complex Needs Assistant to join their dedicated team as soon as possible. The school provides a supportive and structured environment for pupils who require additional help with their learning, communication, behaviour and development.

As a Complex Needs Assistant, you will work closely with Teachers and specialist support staff to provide personalised support throughout the school day. You will help pupils access learning, participate in activities and develop their independence while ensuring they feel safe, understood and supported.

This Complex Needs Assistant role will involve:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support
• Supporting pupils with complex learning and additional needs
• Working with pupils who may have ASD, PMLD, physical disabilities, sensory needs or medical needs
• Supporting communication, social interaction and engagement
• Helping pupils develop independence and essential life skills
• Creating a calm, safe and structured environment
• Working collaboratively with Teachers and other support staff
• ASAP start
• Thatcham location with accessible transport links

The school is looking for a Complex Needs Assistant who is patient, compassionate and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Previous experience within an SEN, care, support work or education setting would be beneficial, although the school is also open to candidates with relevant transferable experience.
