Are you an experienced Company Commercial solicitor looking for the opportunity to shape and lead a successful department?
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of an established Company Commercial practice with ambitious growth plans and a genuine seat at the leadership table. Backed by the Board, you'll have the autonomy to develop the department, influence the firm's strategic direction and build on an excellent reputation across Gloucestershire and the wider South West.
This role is about far more than managing a caseload. It's an opportunity to lead people, develop future talent, strengthen client relationships and play a key role in the continued success of a progressive, people-focused law firm.
The Opportunity
You'll oversee a broad and varied corporate and commercial practice, advising SMEs, owner-managed businesses and established commercial clients on matters including:
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Shareholder and partnership agreements
• Commercial contracts
• Corporate restructures
• Joint ventures
• Corporate governance and strategic business advice
Alongside your own high-quality client work, you'll lead the department, set its strategic direction, mentor and develop the team, identify new opportunities for growth and work closely with the firm's leadership on wider business initiatives.
About You
Applications are welcomed from experienced corporate or company commercial solicitors with:
• Around 8 years' PQE or above (guideline only)
• Strong technical expertise across corporate and commercial matters
• Experience developing and maintaining client relationships
• A genuine interest in leadership, mentoring and team development
• Commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach to business development
• The ambition to play a significant role in the future growth of the firm
