Company Accountant
An established organisation within the health and social care sector is seeking an experienced Company Accountant to take hands-on responsibility for the financial affairs of a multi-company Group. This is a broad accounting position requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to personally manage statutory accounting, group accounting, taxation, inter-company accounting, payroll-related accounting, audit preparation and financial compliance. Key Responsibilities Prepare annual statutory accounts and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory requirements. Maintain accurate accounting records, year-end schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation. Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis. Maintain accurate accounts across individual Group companies and support consolidated financial reporting. Manage inter-company ledgers, transactions and control accounts, including monthly reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies. Manage Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, National Insurance and CIS requirements where applicable. Prepare VAT returns and reconciliations and maintain appropriate supporting records. Manage HMRC correspondence and respond to routine enquiries and information requests. Maintain accurate payroll accounting records, journals and control accounts.
