We are proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive school inandnbsp;Canterbury, currently seeking a dedicated professional to join their specialist team fromandnbsp;September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of hearing-impaired pupils, supporting both their academic progress and social development.



andnbsp;The Role:


As a Communication Support Worker, you will:


  • Provide tailored support to hearing-impaired children within both the specialist unit and mainstream classroom settings
  • Useandnbsp;British Sign Language (BSL)andnbsp;orandnbsp;Signed Supported English (SSE)andnbsp;as a second language to aid communication and learning
  • Work closely with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and inclusion in all aspects of school life



£andnbsp;Essential Requirements:



  • BSL / SSE qualification toandnbsp;CACDP Stage 2 or 3andnbsp;(or equivalent)
  • Minimum ofandnbsp;2 yearsandrsquo; experienceandnbsp;working with children with hearing impairments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised, flexible, and self-motivated



£andnbsp;Desirable Experience:



  • Familiarity withandnbsp;Cochlear Implants
  • Experience supporting children withandnbsp;ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)andnbsp;andandnbsp;SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs)
