An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Commissioning Home Manager to play a pivotal role in the development and launch of a new, purpose-built nursing home in Edinburgh.
This role is ideal for a commercially astute, resilient and visionary leader who thrives on building services from the ground up. You will lead the commissioning phase end-to-end, shaping the culture, recruiting and developing the team, embedding quality and governance frameworks, and driving occupancy as the home opens and grows.
The provider has a strong reputation for high-quality, person-centred care and is committed to investing in both people and infrastructure. You will be supported by an experienced senior leadership team while being given genuine autonomy to make the service your own.

About the Commissioning Home Manager role and what''s on offer:
- Permanent, full-time contract - 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with flexibility during commissioning phase)
- Circa -60,000 basic salary, negotiable depending on experience
- -30,000+ performance-related bonus, linked to successful commissioning milestones, occupancy growth and quality outcomes

What we''re looking for in a Commissioning Home Manager:
- NMC Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with proven experience commissioning nursing homes, or extensive experience commissioning nursing homes for candidates without a nursing qualification
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Home Manager, or an experienced Nursing Home Manager with significant commissioning, pre-opening or turnaround experience
- Hold a recognised care management qualification, such as SVQ/NVQ Level 5, RMA or Diploma Level 5
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes, registration and inspections, particularly with the Care Inspectorate
- Demonstrable experience recruiting and building teams from scratch and embedding strong culture, governance and quality frameworks
- Commercially astute, with a proven track record of managing budgets, driving occupancy and delivering sustainable growth
- Confident and visible leader with excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with regulators, local authorities, professionals and families
- Highly organised, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- A genuine passion for delivering high standards of care and creating an exceptional service
- Full eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship or visa switch available).
- Willingness to undertake a PVG check.
