The Role
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a skilled Commissioning (Cx) Manager to join their site delivery team in Northumberland. This pivotal position acts as a primary point of contact across internal and external stakeholder teams. Balancing strong technical expertise with project management rigor, you will oversee all commissioning phases to ensure a seamless handover on a major data centre development.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead, direct, and supervise site Commissioning Engineers, defining work scopes and driving strategy execution.
Programme & Milestone Management: Manage the overall M&E commissioning schedule, tracking progress, sequencing activities, and mitigating operational risks.
Stakeholder & Client Relations: Act as a key liaison with client stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to communicate milestones, priorities, and schedules.
Design & Technical Query Resolution: Participate in detailed design reviews (CFCI & OFCI packages) and ensure all technical queries are formally raised, tracked, and resolved with system designers.
Vendor & Testing Oversight: Coordinate Vendor Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Factory Witness Tests (FWTs), managing commissioning scopes for all equipment vendors.
Quality & Documentation: Work alongside the QA/QC department to prepare, review, and approve test scripts, compliance statements, and level sign-off documentation required for final handover.
Meetings & Progress Reporting: Lead daily and weekly commissioning meetings and submit regular technical and progress reports to line management.
EHS & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to project specifications, standard operating procedures, and site safety protocols across all commissioning works.
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a minimum of 5+ years in a Commissioning leadership role on data centre or mission-critical projects.
Technical Knowledge: A strong background in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering, with solid cross-disciplinary knowledge of full M&E systems.
Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of building effective relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and vendor teams in complex site environments.
Safety Awareness: Thorough understanding of EHS and safe working practices related to live mechanical and electrical commissioning.
