Commissioning Engineer for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) - Converter Control

Overview

In our HVDC Communication Team, we test and verify network infrastructures, communication interfaces, as well as HMI concepts of our innovative HVDC projects in our test center. During the commissioning of our HVDC systems worldwide, we ensure the flawless functionality and quality. Our diverse and multinational teams work closely with project management, system, and component engineering to provide custom solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.Responsibilities

You are responsible for technically flawless, on-time and economical handling of the commissioning of HVDC systems on our construction sites (worldwide) especially for data networks and individual components of network communication SCADA- LevelResponsibility for the commissioning, support, and control of the predominantly TCP/IP-based network infrastructure, HMI concept, and their purpose-specific adaptationResponsibility for time synchronization as well as the local and remote signal converter and thus interface to all other involved signal suppliersSupport for other commissioning components as well as customers and external partners in resolving and testing communication interfacesSupport for IBS management in quality, risk, and claim managementParticipation in improvement programs (including Lean, reviews, and lessons learned)Qualifications

Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable education / qualification. We are open to new, motivated Graduates or those earlier in their career.Experience in network administration (switches, routers, etc.), basic HMI, and PC administration (hardware and virtualization)Basic knowledge of network protocols (including TCP/IP, RADIUS) as well as network security and monitoringAbility to communicate complex technical information clearly and preciselyHandling of circuit diagrams and electrical systemsWillingness for worldwide business trips and long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, as well as optional assignments on offshore platformsTeam player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision-making capabilityAbout Siemens Energy / Diversity and Benefits
