They are looking for a confident and Commercial Manager / Utilities Contract Specialist to lead on innovative energy initiatives, build strong partnerships, and help shape the organisations commercial utilities strategy from the ground up.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced energy industry professional to bring commercial insight, stakeholder expertise, and passion for sustainable utilities to the public sector. As this is a newly created position, you’ll be instrumental in defining the scope, direction, and long-term impact of the role.As the Commercial Manager / Utilities Contract Specialist you’ll work across the organisation and with external partners to drive forward key energy projects, identify commercial opportunities, and advise on best practice in utility management – all while representing the organisation with confidence and professionalism.Duties
Management of the utility contracts (electricity, gas and water)Developing and implementing commercial activities for the organisation’s utilities service, including managing the utilities contracts, commissioning commercial utility capital projects and investment opportunities, in partnership with procurement service and processesDeveloping and agreeing Commercial strategies aligned to the organisation’s strategic objectivesWith the Head of Commercial and Financial Support, manage the development and implementation of utilities business systems, processes and policiesContribute to the identification and implementation of a programme of renewable energy generation and carbon reduction projects on the organisation7s own property assetsCandidate requirements
Degree-level, equivalent relevant professional qualifications or expertiseExcellent working knowledge of the political landscape, legislative frameworks, and regional and national drivers of the utility markets and industryKnowledge of the structure, operation, and regulation of utility markets, including electricity, gas, and water sectorsKnowledge of commercial analysis techniques including cost analysis, time motion analysis, trend analysis, future forecasting and other business analysis techniquesBenefits
