Commercial Manager - Civils

The Opportunity An established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to take a senior role within its commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional with a strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure to take responsibility for the commercial performance of a portfolio of projects while leading and developing a team of six Quantity Surveyors. The role will be based from Glasgow, with regular travel to projects across the Central Belt Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of 6 Quantity Surveyors, providing commercial direction, support and development. Take overall responsibility for the commercial management of allocated civil engineering projects. Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise project performance and profitability. Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting, cash flow and monthly CVRs. Review commercial performance and provide clear reporting to senior management. Manage the commercial relationship with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. Lead procurement activities, subcontract negotiations and account management. Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities and potential areas of exposure. Administer and manage NEC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, variations and contractual notices.
