Responsibilities
As
Commercial Manager
at
AllPoints Fibre Networks
you will be responsible for managing the gross margin of at least one of APFN’s core products (FTTP, Ethernet, SOGEA) as well as value-added services. This will involve ownership of:Pricing and promotions across our partners and partner tiersThe relationship with one or more of APFN’s network providersYou will understand the products and propositions built by our Product Team and will have the opportunity to leverage best input pricing from our suppliers. As the owner of product gross margin you will generate the business cases for APFN’s products taking input from Products and Proposition and Sales teams.You will collaborate closely with our Sales, Service, Marketing, Data, Networks, Finance and Procurement teams to create and monitor market-leading commercial propositions. APFN is a young organisation, so continuous improvement and good governance in commercial processes (and tools) will be fundamental to your role.Defined as revenue net of discounts less direct connectivity costs.What You Will Be Doing
Commercial Propositions:
Create, maintain, and monitor commercial propositions published to the wholesale partner base, adjusting to regulatory changes and market evolution. Drive sustainable profitable growth through creative commercials.Maximisation of gross margin:
Work with Procurement and Commercial teams to ensure best cost of connectivity.Commercial contracts:
Work with the product and account manager(s) to create, maintain and monitor partner contracts to ensure risk mitigation and regulatory compliance. Manage any change control notes required with Legal to represent any commercial changes.Pricing:
Align with Pricing Managers to develop and maintain commercial pricing for products. Work with Finance to ensure correct cost base and assumptions and work with Networks to ensure any network development is reflected in the cost base.Business cases:
Support Product Managers in assessing business cases of new product development and ascertaining the market price. Analyze and evaluate business opportunities, assess profitability, and manage financial targets set by the business.In-life management:
Ensure revenue assurance and cost assurance outputs are actioned with suppliers working with the Procurement team.Network and infrastructure suppliers:
Work with Networks team to ensure commercial economics and levers are forefront of all network strategies and negotiations.Market Insights:
A deep understanding of the wholesale telecommunication market in the UK including knowledge of competitors, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks. Maintain insight and knowledge to inform commercial decisioning.Governance:
Ensure all commercial propositions and offers follow the correct governance and change controls.Strategic thinking:
The ability to think strategically and develop profitable and structured commercial propositions reflecting APFN’s USPs.About You
You will have strong financial and commercial acumen with practical experience. Your strong communication skills will enable you to clearly articulate to financial and non-financial colleagues. Excellent proficiency in Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint will be essential to develop financial tools, cost models and support business assessments.The Benefits At APFN
