Heriot Brown is working with a leading global insurance broker to appoint a Commercial Counsel into their London-based legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing legal function at the heart of a major international business, with exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation.The role

You’ll be part of the Commercial Legal Team, advising on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters that are central to the business. Your work will cover:Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including insurance agreements, TOBAs, supply/vendor agreements, consultancy agreements, collaboration agreements, sponsorships, and service agreements.Advising on technology, IP, privacy, AI, and procurement/vendor services (including SaaS, licensing, website, software, and app development agreements).Supporting with insurance agreements (London Market agreements, delegated underwriting agreements, binding agreements, consulting agreements, and policy wording reviews).Partnering with Compliance and Risk on privacy, data protection, and information security (GDPR, data transfer clauses, privacy notices, policies, DSARs, PECR).Assisting with complex business queries, customer matters, and regulatory processes, including contentious issues where required.Contributing to policy development, training, know-how, and process improvements across the legal function.Supporting on employment-related agreements (consultancy, restrictive covenants, IR35).About you

UK-qualified solicitors with experience in some of the following:Commercial contracts (core requirement).Insurance law/insurance industry experience (London Market knowledge highly desirable).Privacy and data protection (UK and EU GDPR, information security).Technology/IP contracts (SaaS, licensing, procurement, AI).Contentious or regulatory experience (complaints, disputes, FOS/POS).You’ll bring
