Our client, a leader in the procurement supply chain sector within the defence and aerospace industries, is currently seeking a dedicated Commercial Contracts Manager to join their team. This permanent role will involve managing the entire lifecycle of domestic commercial contracts, from negotiation to execution, and closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the negotiation of terms and conditions for commercial contracts to align with company objectives and ensure contractual compliance.
- Drive the Route to Contract process, including bidding, proposal generation, contract negotiations, and maintaining viability.
- Oversee contract management throughout their lifecycle, including amendments, renewals, and closeout processes, ensuring all obligations are met.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, including ITAR, EAR, FAR/DFARS, and other defence industry standards.
- Identify potential risks associated with contracts and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with various departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, offering guidance to internal stakeholders and resolving issues with external clients and partners.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on contract status, key risks, and significant issues.
- Manage and resolve contract-related disputes in collaboration with legal and other relevant departments.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in commercial management within a defence environment.
- Experience in drafting, negotiating, and agreeing on contracts and agreements.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with MoD contracting structures, including DEFCONs and QDCs, is preferred.
- British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship, able to obtain HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
