Commercial and Technology Lawyer, Banking

Overview

A major UK retail and corporate bank is looking for a mid to senior level lawyer to join the established commercial and technology legal team. The role involves working on commercial matters such as drafting and negotiating high value commercial contracts, IT licensing, financial products distribution, material outsourcing, supporting the operations and infrastructure of the group, and data protection. You will support the business on digital, innovation and AI matters, working with new ventures developed by the bank. You will provide strategic legal advice and assist with policy change and improving best practice.Responsibilities

Drafting and negotiating high value commercial contractsManaging IT licensing arrangementsSupporting financial products distribution and material outsourcing initiativesSupporting the operations and infrastructure of the groupEnsuring compliance with data protection requirementsAdvising on digital, innovation and AI matters for new venturesProviding strategic legal advice and assisting with policy change and improving best practiceQualifications

Around the 5-6 years post-qualification level (mid to senior) or equivalent experienceExperience in financial services or strong commercial contracts and technology experienceAmbitious, hungry to learn, and capable of stepping out of private practiceAbility to work with a supportive team and build a strong professional profileHow to apply
