Command & Control Sub-System Engineering Lead

Our client has an opportunity for a Command & Control Sub-System Engineering Lead to join them on a contract basis for 6 months.
This role is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting project, maturing the design of a key subsystem on a high-profile project.

Role: Command & Control Sub-System Engineering Lead
Location: Bristol, 3-4 days onsite
Contract: 6 months
Hours: 37 per week
Hourly Rate: Up to -70 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
Clearance: Full SC to start. UK Eyes Only due to project

What you''ll be doing:

• Provide day-to-day management, direction and technical leadership (including activity tracking and project reporting) of the multi-functional Common Architecture Team (CAT).
• Lead the capture, derivation, and refinement of subsystem requirements for the Command & Control subsystem.
• Work collaboratively with the CAT to deliver the Command & Control sub-system functional architecture.
• Identify and capture functional risks, opportunities, issues and assumptions and their associated mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

• Product development / systems thinking mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Experience across the systems engineering / product development lifecycle, with an emphasis on successful project delivery.
• Experience of functional design and development.
• Proactive and self-managing, with an ability to work under pressure to deliver successful outcomes on demanding timescales.
• Practical knowledge and experience of system engineering processes and tools (e.g. IBM Rhapsody, IBM DOORS, IBM Engineering Workflow Management).
• Experience designing complex systems in a defence or other highly regulated environment
• Experience working in or leading a cross-functional engineering teams.
