College SEN Learning Support Assistant

This is a small SEN college that caters for young adults with PMLD, Complex needs, ASD and Speech and Language difficulties. £110 - £130 per day, depending on experience 35 hours per week, Term Time only 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday Up to £130 per day for candidates with extensive experience or qualifications such as Teaching Assistant at NVQ Level 2 or above Not only will you gain invaluable first-hand experience in a secondary school environment, you will also have the opportunity to network with Speech and Language specialists and ELSA practitioners based at the school. This is also a great opportunity if you have considered a future in teaching or education. About the role Working in a mainstream secondary school that has a high number of pupils with SEND needs Deliver classroom support for Key Stage 3 pupils either 1:1 or groups of students Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all students as required Support the teaching in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress Monitor and manage stock and supplies for the classroom Supervise students between lessons and when entering and leaving the school The right candidate Maths and English GCSE grade A -C / 9-4 or equivalent Experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEND needs.
