About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced coded welder to work within the Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Marine, Steel and Industrial sectors. Our clients require candidates with experience in MIG, TIG, Flux core welding methods. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a supportive, reputable and forward-thinking engineering company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out coded welding in accordance with recognised standards such as PD5500, ASME IX, or equivalent.
- Utilise TIG, MIG, and Flux Core welding techniques to fabricate components to exact specifications.
- Fabricate metal parts in line with engineering drawings, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Inspect welds visually and record heat numbers of components and consumables as required.
- Survey on-site projects and report findings to management.
- Communicate effectively with customers and project teams.
- Travel domestically within the UK and internationally as required.
- Adhere strictly to instructions, procedures, and company policies.
- Record working times accurately and report any variances to the welding shop supervisor.
- Sign off production orders ensuring full compliance with the ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support the training and development of apprentices and junior staff.
- Proactively suggest improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in coded welding and fabrication within manufacturing or production environments.
- Skilled in TIG, MIG, and Flux Core welding across various materials and thicknesses.
- Experience working to PD5500, ASME IX, or similar welding standards.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Excellent communication and customer liaison skills.
- Flexibility to travel worldwide and work both on-site and in the Coventry factory.
