We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Team Leader to join our growing precision engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering professional to lead a skilled workshop team, ensuring components are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating daily workshop activities, supporting production targets and driving continuous improvement across the machine shop.

  • Lead, motivate and support a team of Machinists, Fitters and Workshop Operatives.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor workflow and allocate resources effectively
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the workshop.
  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Support machine set-up, troubleshooting and problem-solving when required.
  • Liaise with management, quality and production teams to prioritise workloads.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, training and mentoring for workshop staff.
  • Assist with performance management, attendance monitoring and employee development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure workshop housekeeping and 5S standards are maintained.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior CNC Machinist position.
  • Strong background within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of CNC machining processes, engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Competent using production and quality documentation
