CNC Turner - Programmer / Setter / Operator Paying -20.00 - -23.00 per Hour | Day shift | Overtime Available

ES Recruit is seeking a experienced CNC Turner - (Programmer / Setter / Operator) to join a specialist precision engineering business based in the Oldham area.

The company manufactures high-quality components for the defence sector where precision, quality and full traceability is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Turner looking for a long-term position, excellent working hours and ongoing technical development.

Pay Rate

-20.00 - -23.00 per hour (Rate dependent on experience and ability)
Overtime is also available at weekends.

Working Hours

Monday - Thursday: 7:45am - 4:30pm. Friday: 7:45am - 12:45pm
Enjoy an early finish every Friday, with additional overtime available.

The Role

You''ll be responsible for taking ownership from programming and setting through to final inspection. The role involves mainly 1-off runs, not multi batch work.

Your duties will include:

• Programming, setting and operating CNC HAAS turning machines
• Working with Fanuc controls - Understanding and editing G-code
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
• Setting tooling and carrying out tool changes
• Selecting appropriate machining parameters
• Producing precision-engineered components to specification
• Carrying out dimensional and quality inspections on completed work and ensuring components meet required tolerances

We''re therefore looking for a CNC Turner who doesn''t just know how to run a machine, but understands the importance of producing accurate, repeatable components and completing the required inspection and quality documentation correctly.

What We''re Looking For

You''ll ideally have:

• Ability to program, set and operate CNC lathes independently
• Experience with HAAS machines
• Experience using Fanuc controls
• Good understanding of G-code
• Ability to read detailed engineering drawings
• Experience carrying out tool changes and machine setups
• Strong inspection and measurement skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• A quality-focused approach to precision engineering

Experience working within Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Defence or another highly regulated engineering environment would be particularly advantageous.

BPSS Clearance
