CNC Turner Setter Operator – Night Shift
Location: Ferndown
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, 8:30pm–7:00am
Pay: £22.50–£23.50 per hour
Employment: Full-Time / Permanent
The Role
A well-established engineering business specialising in the manufacture of precision components for the Aerospace and Defence sectors is looking for an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join their night shift team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating Mazak CNC turning machines, producing high-quality components to engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate Mazak CNC turning centres.
- Set tooling, workholding, offsets and machine parameters.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Run production efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection.
- Monitor tool wear and make offset adjustments where required.
- Make minor programme edits when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Follow quality, health & safety and 5S procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
- Experience with Mazak machines and controls is advantageous.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Good understanding of turning processes, tooling and inspection equipment.
- CNC programming experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Mazak programming course provided.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
