2-Axis CNC Turning | Permanent Late Shift | 4-Day Week

This is a CNC programming role - not a setter/operator-only position. You must be confident writing new CNC turning programs from scratch at the machine, as well as setting and operating, with minimal supervision.
Response Personnel is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner/Programmer on behalf of our client, a well-established precision engineering company, to join their late shift on a permanent basis. This is a genuine four-day working week: the shift finishes at 1.00 am on Friday morning, and you do not return to work until 4.30 pm on Monday.
Our client is specifically looking for someone who is already established in their career, with several years'' experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines. Unfortunately, candidates who would require training to develop into programming cannot be considered, as our client does not currently have the capacity to provide this.
The salary -50,65457,319 per annum including the late-shift premium, depending on experience.
Essential experience
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines.
- Able to write new CNC programs from scratch/long-hand at the machine, with little or no supervision.
- Strong working knowledge of G-code programming.
- Confident completing the full machine set-up from engineering drawing to finished component, including material, tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting conditions.
- Able to edit and optimise existing programs where required.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, surface finishes and in-process inspection.
- Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium-volume precision components in a range of hard and soft metals.
- Confident working on parts from approximately -25 mm x 100 mm up to -300 mm x 3 m. Hoist training is provided.
- Quality-driven, self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Already established in your career - this role is not suitable for candidates who would need training to develop into programming.
Desirable experience
- Fanuc controls and Fanuc Manual Guide i software.
Package and benefits
- Permanent, full-time position with an immediate start available.
- Four-day week: Monday-Wednesday 4.30 pm-3.30 am; Thursday 4.30 pm-1.00 am - finishing for the week in the early hours of Friday morning and not returning until 4.30 pm on Monday.
- Late-shift premium paid at time plus one third.
