Working as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist with materials including stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastics. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture of components. Editing programmes and making offset adjustments using Fanuc controls on Star sliding head machinery. Carrying out first off inspection and in process quality checks using micrometers, verniers and gauges. Ensuring Star sliding head machines are maintained correctly, tooling is replaced when required and downtime is minimised. Working to production schedules while maintaining high quality and accuracy standards. Adhering to all health and safety procedures within the manufacturing environment. Key Skills of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist: Proven experience as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist setting and operating Star sliding head machines.
