About The Role:
They are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter to support their relocation and continued expansion. The successful candidate will have strong programming and setting experience across a range of CNC machinery, including milling machines, lathes, mill/turn centres and sliding head machines, particularly Mazak and Star equipment.
This role is ideally suited to a highly skilled machinist who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving manufacturing challenges and driving continuous improvement. As part of a small and growing team, you will be expected to work with a high degree of independence and initiative, identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce cycle times and enhance production performance.
For the right individual, this position offers a clear pathway towards a future Production Management role as the company continues to expand
Key Duties:
• CNC programming, setting and optimisation of machining processes
• CNC milling, turning, mill/turn and sliding head operations
• Producing high-precision components from engineering drawings
• Online and/or offline programming as required
• Editing, setting, proving-out and improving CNC programs
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process development
• Identifying opportunities to improve machining efficiency, quality and productivity
• Ensuring all components meet required quality standards and tolerances
• Assisting with the establishment and development of manufacturing processes during the company relocation
• Undertaking additional duties as required
Candidate Requirements:
• Strong CNC programming and setting experience is essential
• Experience with CNC milling and CNC turning
• Experience of Mazak and Star machinery highly desirable
• CAD/CAM experience preferred, particularly Fusion 360 or SolidwORKS/SolidCAM
• Ability to work independently and make informed technical decisions
• Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset
• Experience improving manufacturing methods, tooling strategies or cycle times would be advantageous
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Knowledge of imperial measurement systems beneficial but not essential
• CNC operators without programming and setting experience will not be considered
