Cnc Programmer Setter Operator

CNC Programmer – Birmingham

A well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham city centre is seeking to recruit a skilledCNC Programmer to join their production team. This role is being recruited on behalf of the client by Concept Resources.

The Role:
As part of a strategic plan to increase productivity, the successful candidate will support the existing CNC team with daily operational tasks and assist Manufacturing Engineers with lean and 5S improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate as a hands-on machinist on Fanuc or Mazak VMC machines
• Provide cover during absences as required
• Carry out TPM/PPM maintenance activities
• Program CNC machines online at the control
• Conduct proving out of programs
• Participate in lean and 5S initiatives

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience programming Fanuc VMCs across a wide range of materials. Knowledge of turning operations or Mazatrol programming is advantageous.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be a UK national - Due to MOD work
• Completed apprenticeship at a minimum Level 3
• Extensive experience setting and running CNC machines
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, including GD&T symbols
• Flexible, proactive, and ‘can-do’ attitude

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Mazatrol programming
• Turning knowledge
• Exposure to CAD/CAM systems
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word
• CMM operation experience

Additional Information:

• Competitive hourly rate: £15-£17 per hour (depending on experience)
• Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30-12:30), with some flexibility required
• Holidays: 25 days, including compulsory Christmas shutdown and floating days
