About the Role
Based in Nottingham, this permanent CNC Press Brake Setter role offers up to £27,300 annually, plus a night shift allowance of £21 per night. The successful candidate will set and operate CNC press brake machinery, reading engineering drawings and selecting appropriate tooling. We are seeking TWO experienced CNC Press Brake Setters to join a busy and growing manufacturing environment in Nottingham. This is a hands on role for someone confident in setting and operating CNC press brakes, interpreting engineering drawings, and producing high quality folded components to tight tolerances.
About the Role
Working within a fast paced fabrication environment, you will be responsible for setting machines, bending a variety of materials, and ensuring all work meets required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC press brake machines safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Select correct tooling and machine settings for each job
- Produce high quality folded and bent components to specification
- Carry out first off inspections and regular in process quality checks
- Measure components using verniers, rulers, angle gauges and other equipment
- Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and quality
- Work to production schedules and meet output targets
- Identify and report quality issues or machine faults
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area
- Follow all health andamp; safety procedures
- Support colleagues and assist with other fabrication duties when required
Skills andamp; Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter / Operator
- Confident setting and operating CNC press brakes
- Ability to carry out bending operations on various materials and thicknesses
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience selecting tooling and adjusting machine settings
- Able to work accurately to tight tolerances
- Good understanding of fabrication processes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar machinery
- Counterbalance forklift licence
- Crane or lifting equipment experience
- Fabrication or sheet metal background
