CNC Operator/ Programmer/ Turner

Our modern CNC workshop is equipped with late-model Yamazaki Mazak and DMG Mori turning and milling centers.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated CNC Programmer, Setter, and Operator to take ownership of precision turning projects. Working largely on your own initiative within our small-batch production workflow, you will turn rough castings into high-precision finished components to tight geometric and dimensional tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines.

• Producing high-precision parts from engineering drawings in small batch runs and bespoke short production.

• Performing full dimensional self-inspection using standard mechanical metrology and measuring equipment.

• Managing tool selection, offsets, feeds, speeds, and machine setup efficiently to optimize cycle times.

Requirements:

• Proven background setting and programming CNC lathes/turning centers to tight tolerances.

• Experience with Mazatrol controls is a distinct advantage, but full training will be provided for programmers experienced in other controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).

• Ability to read, interpret, and work confidently from technical engineering drawings.

• Proficient with standard precision measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.).

• Experience with small-batch work, jobbing shop environments, or heavy industrial materials (bronzes/brasses) is a plus.
