Optimise toolpaths, feeds and speeds to improve machining efficiency and quality. Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and GDandT requirements. Set up CNC mills and lathes, including tooling, fixtures, work holding and program loading. Complete machine offsets, tool length setting and adjustments during production. Run prototype and production jobs to meet quality and delivery requirements. Inspect components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges and other precision measuring equipment. Record inspection results and report any nonconformities. Identify and resolve machining issues including chatter, tool wear and program errors.
