CNC Operator - Gateshead
Are you an experienced CNC Operator looking for a permanent opportunity with a well-established manufacturing business?
We''re looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join a busy production team in Gateshead, working on the manufacture of high-quality components for signage and large format projects.
This is a hands-on role where you''ll be responsible for setting up and operating 3-axis CNC routers, producing components accurately to technical drawings and customer specifications, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
Signage experience is advantageous, but we''re also keen to hear from experienced CNC Operators from other manufacturing environments.
The Role
You''ll be responsible for operating CNC machinery to manufacture a variety of components, ensuring every product is produced accurately and within the required production deadlines.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Setting up and operating 3-axis CNC routers safely and efficiently.
Operating AXYZ or Tekcel CNC machines.
Creating and amending CNC programmes using VCarve CAM software, depending on experience.
Reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings.
Manufacturing components accurately to customer specifications.
Carrying out quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and finish.
Performing routine CNC machine maintenance, including checking sacrificial boards and greasing machine runners.
Identifying and resolving minor machine issues where possible.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with 6S principles.
Working closely with production colleagues to achieve daily targets and quality standards.
Following all company Health & Safety procedures.
What We''re Looking For
We''re looking for someone with:
Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.
Experience operating 3-axis CNC routers.
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work to production deadlines.
A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
The ability to lift materials and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
Previous experience within the signage or large format print industry.
AXYZ CNC routers.
Tekcel CNC routers.
VCarve CAM software.
Automatic Letter Benders (ALB).
FLOW Waterjet machinery.
Working Hours
38 hours per week:
Monday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Tuesday - Thursday: 7:45am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:45am - 3:00pm
No weekend working.
