CNC Operator-Perm-Greater Manchester
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Greater Manchester area, is seeking a motivated CNC Operator to join their team. The role requires a strong focus on safety and adherence to 5S standards.
Role Overview of the CNC Operator:

Operate and set up 3-axis CNC routers-for 2D sheet metal component production

Experience with cutting aluminium materials, VWM/Technos 38 machines, and the OSAI CNC controller-is highly advantageous but not essential

Support 5-axis machining operations-including fixture and jig setup, tool datum setting, with knowledge of CMS machines being a plus

Operate CNC punch machines, including tool and machine setup for materials ranging from 0.6mm to 2mm thickness, preferably using Amada machines with Fanuc controllers

Extensive use of OSAI controllers-for both 3-axis and 5-axis machines is a key requirement; Fanuc controller experience with punch machines is also beneficial

Perform tool changes and precise setting of machines to ensure production quality

Exposure to CAD/CAM software such as Radan, Alpha-CAM, and Catia V5 is desirable, though not essential
Skills/requirements of the CNC Operator:

Proven commitment to working safely within a manufacturing environment

Familiarity with 5S methodology and its application on the shop floor

Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high standards of quality

Willingness to learn and develop skills, especially with OSAI CNC systems
