The Role
A well-established engineering company is seeking a Night Shift CNC Operator to join their expanding machine shop team.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CNC machinery, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.

Duties will include:

  • Operating and monitoring CNC machines to produce components to specification.
  • Carrying out routine machine checks and reporting any issues.
  • Completing relevant production documentation accurately.
  • Inspecting and quality-checking own work against engineering drawings.
  • Reporting and recording any non-conformances.
  • Supporting colleagues and assisting with general duties as required.
  • Keeping the work area clean, organised, and safe at all times.
  • Participating in training to maintain and develop skills.
  • Minimising waste and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
  • Providing support and guidance to new team members or apprentices.
  • Working closely with supervisors and managers to meet production deadlines.

The Candidate
Previous experience in CNC machine operation.

Comfortable working night shifts.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and a commitment to Health & Safety.

Engineering qualification (e.g., apprenticeship or equivalent) is desirable.

Numerate, with the ability to work with decimals, fractions, and whole numbers.

Practical, hands-on approach with problem-solving skills.
