Wetherby | Up to -40,000 | Days Only | 38 Hours | 4 Day Week
Overtime Available | Ongoing Training | Permanent Role

An excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established and reputable engineering business in Wetherby. Working within a busy machine shop, you will manufacture high-quality precision components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to customer specifications.

As a CNC Miller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (HAAS) using Fanuc controls
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, and job specifications to produce components to tight tolerances
  • Selecting correct tooling, setting offsets and ensuring machine capability is optimised
  • Producing one-off and small batch precision components to a high standard
  • Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment
  • Editing programmes at the machine to improve efficiency and resolve issues
  • Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
  • Working to production schedules and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area in line with health & safety standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues across production and engineering to ensure smooth workflow



Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in CNC milling (setting, operating and ideally programming)
  • Strong working knowledge of Fanuc control systems
  • Experience working with HAAS machines (highly advantageous)Experience with 3, 4 or 5-axis milling
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
  • Confident selecting tooling, setting offsets and making programme adjustments
  • Understanding of inspection processes and use of measuring equipment
  • Experience working with a range of materials (steel, alloys or similar) Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
  • A proactive, positive attitude with strong attention to detail
