About the Role
A permanent, full-time CNC Miller / Toolmaker position is available in Leeds (LS10) with a thermoforming packaging manufacturer. The role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines and lathes to produce precise tooling components for automated plastic packaging production. Manual milling, bench fitting, and quality checks using precision measuring instruments are also required. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, with a salary of £31,200 to £37,440 per annum. This position is based in the Hunslet area.

About The Role:
The company are a growing thermoforming packaging manufacturer, they are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their busy toolroom in Hunslet, Leeds. The role focuses on producing thermoforming tooling used in fully automated plastic packaging production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes
• Operate manual milling machines and carry out bench fitting
• Produce tooling components to precise specifications
• Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments
• Support machining and tooling processes across production
Candidate Requirements:
• Preferably experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machining operations are desirable
• Experience in toolmaking or mechanical engineering within manufacturing
• Skilled in precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators)
• Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety standards

• Hands-on CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
• CAD proficiency and CAM programming (highly desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Team-focused mindset with the ability to work independently
Desirable: CAD/CAM experience, Shopmill knowledge, or thermoforming tooling experience.
