Job Description : CNC Miller Setter / Operator Milling (Bristol)
As a CNC Miller Setter Operator your role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines. Your expertise in machine setup, and precision machining will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict industry standards and specifications. You will work closely with engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.
Requirements:
Machine Setup:
- Experience in setting up CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools.
- Ability to set Work Shifts including 4th Axis and Trunions.
- Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process.
CNC Machining Skills:
- CNC Miller Setter/Operators must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to monitor the machining process closely, making adjustments to tooling or machine settings as necessary to maintain precision and quality.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Heidenhain & Fanuc Controls
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Capability to identify and resolve common CNC machine issues, such as tooling problems.
- Proficiency in conducting routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
- Knowledge of machine calibration and alignment procedures to maintain accuracy and precision.
- To be confident in the recalibration of both Probes & OTS measuring Equipment
Quality Assurance:
- Attention to detail and ability to perform in-process inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to verify part dimensions and surface finishes..
Safety and Compliance:
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Compliance with company policies, quality standards, and relevant industry regulations.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Monitoring of OEE data including FourJaw
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and engineers.
- Ability to document and maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets, tool lists & kits
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, machining techniques, and process improvements.
