The Role My client is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to safely set and operate CNC machinery in line with internal quality and safety standards. The role involves machining metal components, carrying out detailed quality checks and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This is a PM shift position. Key Responsibilities • Safe operation of CNC machinery • Loading and unloading raw materials and machined components • Completing detailed quality inspections against dimensional drawings using Hexagon measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers and gauges • Tooling maintenance and servicing, including correct insert selection, checking tool heights, setting offsets, and applying appropriate speeds and feed rates • Supporting continuous improvement activities • Adhering to Health and Safety requirements, including PPE, SOP compliance, assisting with risk assessments and highlighting potential hazards • Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards • Carrying out additional operational duties as required • Machine setting including: Selection and pre-machining of workholding jaws and vices Loading correct tooling Selecting appropriate programs from the machine memory Setting machines to first-off stage and making program amendments using CAP s where required The Candidate An engineering-based qualification in machining, manufacturing or a related discipline would be advantageous At least two years of hands-on ..... full job details .....
