We''re recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Setter to join a well-established manufacturing business in Portsmouth. If you''re confident setting and operating CNC milling machines and enjoy producing precision components to tight tolerances, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a skilled and dedicated workshop team.

The role
As a CNC Miller Setter, you''ll be responsible for setting and running CNC milling machines while ensuring components are produced efficiently and to specification.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines using Bridgeport/Heidenhain controls
• Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Use precision measuring equipment to maintain tight tolerances
• Work safely and effectively within a machine shop environment
• Complete production and quality documentation
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the workshop
• Communicate effectively with colleagues across the production team

What they''re looking for

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter or in a similar CNC milling role
• Strong CNC milling and machining background
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Good working knowledge of Heidenhain controls
• Good communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork

Desirable experience:

• Experience with other CNC machinery, including lathes and EDM machines
