Key Responsibilities of a CNC Miller:
- Setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances
- Working across multi-axis machining centres within a modern manufacturing environment
- Completing full machine setups, including tooling and fixture adjustments where required
- Supporting improvements in tooling, setup methods, and machining processes
- Assisting and supporting other operators with machine operation and inspection standards when needed
- Carrying out self-inspection of components and ensuring quality standards are consistently met
- Working from engineering drawings, route cards, and inspection documentation, ensuring accurate recording of information
- Carrying out basic machine checks and preventative maintenance in line with procedures
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping at all times
Key Skills of a CNC Miller:
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience working with multi-axis machining centres and modern CNC controls (Mazatrol experience advantageous)
- Time-served or qualified in a machining or engineering discipline (desirable)
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and inspection documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and flexible approach to machining methods
- Reliable with a strong attendance and timekeeping record
