CNC Miller Setter/Operator (Hurco)

Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: -15.00 - -20.00 per hour (DOE) + Overtime + Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

CNC Miller - Hurco Setter/Operator | Precision Engineering | Witham

We are working with a well-established subcontract precision engineering company in Witham, supporting industries such as Aerospace, Motorsport, Medical, Oil & Gas, and Commercial sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join their skilled and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate Hurco CNC milling machines
• Prove out new jobs and ensure first-off quality approval
• Machine high-precision components to tight tolerances (down to 20 microns)
• Carry out self-inspection using measuring equipment
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Support production efficiency and continuous improvement
• Assist with basic CNC programming (training available if needed)

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller / CNC Machinist / CNC Setter Operator
• Strong setting and operating experience (essential)
• Experience with Hurco controls or OneCNC software (desirable)
• Experience with XYZ machines (advantageous)
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
• Apprentice-trained or time-served background preferred
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
