CNC / Manual Machinist - CNC / Manual Machinist - Keighley

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled CNC / Manual Machinist to join our precision engineering team. You will be responsible for producing high-quality, conforming components from start to finish - from interpreting engineering drawings to programming machines and carrying out quality inspections. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy, efficiency, and safety are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Review engineering drawings to determine required materials, machining operations, and tolerances.

Select, prepare, and identify the correct materials for each job.

Program and operate CNC machinery for the required operations.

Operate both manual and automatic CNC machines, including manual borers.

Carry out in-process and final quality inspections to ensure components meet specifications.

Safely handle and move parts using appropriate lifting tools and overhead cranes.

Store completed parts in the correct locations according to company procedures.

Perform routine maintenance, housekeeping, and asset care on machinery.

Maintain adequate levels of consumables for machinery.

Work to production schedules and deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Adhere to all health & safety policies, safe systems of work, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Machining, or equivalent.

Minimum 4 years'' experience as a machinist.

Proficient in operating both manual and CNC machines.

Experience programming CNC machinery (desirable).

Skilled in operating a manual borer.

Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and tolerances.

Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

Knowledge of quality inspection processes.

Understanding of H&S policies and procedures.

Familiarity with job card systems.
