CNC Machinist Location: Portsmouth Salary: 27,000 - 32,000 + Overtime Benefits: 4-day working week, overtime (1.5x), working with a world-leading productCNC Machinist OverviewAn opportunity has opened up in the Portsmouth area to join a well-established precision engineering company who have been operating for over 40 years and manufactures a world leading product synonymous with precision.OperatingTo operate and run CNC milling machines (Fanuc/control)Be able to read geometric drawingsHave good communication skills.Be able to read and use measuring instruments.Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsDocuments actions by completing production and quality logsControl tolerances given on drawingsBe able to operate other machine shop equipment performing simple tasks i.e Pillar drills, manual lathesSettingBe able to set CNC lathes to perform various tasks and operations (Fanuc/control)Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic mathProduce first off components at the beginning of production runsProgrammingBe able to program CNC lathe machines (Fanuc/control) at the machineBe able to read and adjust existing programsOnce instructed in the procedure, upload or download programs from a central computer.
