Workshop Technician / Machinist / CNC Programmer / CNC Setter / Turner

Salary range -37,500 pa - -51,500 pa (dependent upon experience) + Benefits + Lots of Overtime available

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Turner to join a major supplier of high value capital equipment and engineering services to Manufacturing, Industrial, Scientific, Defence and Space Exploration industries. Operating from a modern site and leading-edge workshop, the company operate the latest Mazak machines.-

The Role:

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.-
Week 1: 13:30 to 22:15 Monday to Thursday, 13:30 to 18:00 on Friday.-
Week 2: 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Friday.-

Producing parts for bespoke specialist machinery for global customers, the CNC Workshop Technician / Machinist will program and operate a variety of lathes including machines with live tooling. This includes Milling, Turning, Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM).-

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the appointed individual will be required to program, set and operate Mazak Turning Machines used to produce precision components for Machinery within Scientific, Space Exploration, Manufacturing, and other industries.

Other duties will include:-

• Performing - routine - quality - checks - to - ensure - all - work - carried - out - meets required standards.
• Completing maintenance tasks on CNC Machines to ensure they operate efficiently.
• Ensuring efficient use of materials such as Stainless, Aluminium and Plastic.

The Person:

• Suitable applicants will be apprentice trained and should be able to demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings and work to fine tolerances. -
• They must also possess strong programming and operating knowledge of Mazak Mazatrol Turning machines.-
• Experience of live tooling desirable but not essential.
• Experience of machining a variety of metals and plastics.-
• Takes pride in the quality of work they deliver, extending to keeping a clean and tidy work environment.-
• Candidates with CAD CAM software experience for 3D milling would be desirable, but not essential.-

Salary and Benefits Package:

• Salary range -37,500 pa - -51,500 pa inclusive of shift allowance + Overtime + Benefits
