Position: Production Operative
Requirements:
We are seeking skilled Production Operatives with a strong background in working with hard materials and operating CNC machinery. Forklift experience is also desirable. Please note that candidates with only warehouse or forklift experience will not be considered for this role.
Key Skills:
- Machinery Operation: Proficient in operating drill and saw machinery, plasma and laser cutting machinery.
- Measuring Equipment: Familiarity with using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Technical Drawings: Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Machinery Operation: Operate a variety of manual and CNC-based machinery efficiently and safely.
- Steel Processing: Process steel to meet customer specifications and tolerances, ensuring high-quality output.
- Reading Drawings: Accurately read and understand technical drawings and orders, following verbal instructions as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, Combi lifts, and cranes, maintaining control throughout all operations.
- Daily Checks: Conduct daily inspections of equipment, including cranes and forklifts/Combi lifts, to ensure safety and functionality.
- Order Collation: Collate orders by banding, palletising, bagging, and preparing them for loading onto transport.
- Loading/Unloading: Efficiently load and unload plates and parts from plasma and laser machines, adhering to safety protocols.
- Product Identification: Identify and locate different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keep machines and work areas clean, tidy, and organised to promote safety and efficiency.
- Reporting: Report any accidents or incidents to the HS&E Manager and notify the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager of any machine faults or breakdowns.
- Training: Attend all required training courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Quality Assurance: Follow Company Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures to ensure a quality product for customers and reduce non-conformances.
Shift Patterns:
- Day Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (06:00 - 14:00)
- Mid Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (14:00 - 22:00)
- Night Shift: 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday (22:00 - 06:00)
