The Role:
As a CNC Lathe Programmer, you will be responsible for the full cradle-to-completion machining process. Your main duties will include:
Creating and editing programs directly at the machine using Fanuc controls
Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small-to-medium batch components
Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
Selecting appropriate tooling, setting up workholding, and performing tool offsets
Carrying out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
Maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring components meet tight tolerances
Troubleshooting machining issues and making necessary adjustments to optimise cycle times and surface finish
Keeping work areas clean, safe, and compliant with company standards
The Ideal Candidate:
Strong experience programming CNC lathes using Fanuc
Able to work with a variety of metals including steel, stainless, alloys, and exotics (advantageous)
Confident with tight tolerances and precision engineering environments
Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently on an afternoon shift
Good understanding of machining principles, cutting speeds, and feeds
Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
