This role involves manufacturing precision parts for customers, following design specifications, blueprints, and drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual surface and cylindrical grinding machines. Day-to-day of the role: Operate manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines such as Jones & Shipman 540 and 1300, XYZ 2040 Surface grinder, and Abwood RG1 circular ring grinder, producing parts to tight tolerances. Measure and inspect manufactured items to ensure accuracy to the drawing and report any deficiencies to the inspector and your line manager. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including oil and coolant level checks. Produce work to the required quality standard while keeping waste to a minimum.
