Are you an experienced CMM Inspector seeking a fresh challenge in a high-tech engineering environment? We''re recruiting on behalf of a leading precision engineering business that supplies critical industries including aerospace, defence, and nuclear.
The Role
As a CMM Inspector, you''ll be responsible for carrying out inspections at multiple stages of the machining process - including first-off, final inspection, and FAIR checks - ensuring customer requirements are fully met.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Performing accurate inspections using CMM software (ideally PC-DMIS)
- Writing inspection programmes from 2D drawings and 3D models
- Providing feedback to machine operators on product non-conformities
- Supporting supervisors with technical queries and highlighting training needs
- Driving continuous improvement within inspection and quality processes
What We''re Looking For
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings & 3D models
- Skilled in CMM software (PC-DMIS preferred, others considered)
- Solid engineering background with knowledge of quality management systems (QMS)
- Understanding of ISO9001 requirements (advantageous)
- Familiarity with inspection tools, reports, and manufacturing techniques
- Experience in CNC machining (preferred)
- IT literate (Excel & PowerPoint essential)
- Flexibility to work additional hours if required
