Sanderson is collaborating with a leading UK-based organisation seeking a talented
Cloud System Administrator
to support a platinum-level account. In this role, you’ll work within a small, high-performing team to design, manage, and optimise
cloud and virtualisation environments
across public, private, and hybrid platforms. This is an opportunity to be part of
mission-critical projects , managing a diverse technology stack that includes containers, virtualisation, servers, storage, networks, middleware, and databases, while helping to drive automation and modernisation across secure platforms.Key Responsibilities
Manage and operate
cloud and virtualisation infrastructure , ensuring stability and performanceDeploy, configure, and optimise
VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
environmentsSupport
cloud migration projects
across
AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
platformsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver
scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutionsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and networkingImplement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using
Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShellMaintain
backup, disaster recovery, and security best practicesDocument systems, configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and auditsProvide technical guidance and support to other teamsSolid experience managing
cloud or virtualisation environmentsStrong organisational and time management skillsProficiency with
ITIL best practicesA proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to adapt quickly in an
Agile, fast-moving environment2+ years in a cloud or virtualisation roleExperience with
containerisation
and
KubernetesStrong experience with
VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVMFamiliarity with public cloud platforms such as
AWS, Azure, or Google CloudKnowledge of networking, storage solutions, and Active Directory in cloud environmentsAutomation tools like
Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or PythonUnderstanding of IT security best practices and complianceRelevant
cloud certifications
(e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator)Security Clearance Requirements
